Presenters

Kim Cavitt, AuD was a clinical audiologist and preceptor at The Ohio State University and Northwestern University and has served as an Adjunct Lecturer at Northwestern and Western Michigan Universities. Since 2001, Dr. Cavitt has operated her own Audiology consulting firm, Audiology Resources, Inc.  Audiology Resources, Inc. provides comprehensive operational, compliance and reimbursement consulting services to hearing healthcare providers. She is a Past President of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA), serves as the Chair of the State of Illinois Speech Pathology and Audiology Licensure Board, is Vice President of Government Relations for the Illinois Academy of Audiology and serves on committees through ADA and ASHA.

Dr Cavitt will deliver a training program over two half days that will focus on pricing and differentiation in an independent audiology practice.  This series will focus on the fundamentals of practice differentiation and practicing to the top of our skill sets, the difference between value and price, bundled versus unbundled/itemized pricing, and creation of patient centered pricing and care delivery.  The goal is to provide the background and practical knowledge that will enable audiologists to create research evidence based, outcome driven care and service models.

Andrew Glynn  is the owner and director of Hear In Pty Ltd. Andrew has over 15 years’ industry experience in Australia and the UK. Hear In Karingal commenced operations in October, 2021. Prior to this, Andrew worked for a large Audiology provider for 13 years as an Audiologist, Area Manager, Regional Manager, and Clinical Coach and has managed up to 72 staff. With the industry putting more and more focus on hearing aid sales and over the counter devices, the need to deliver professional, independent and unbiased Audiology services is now more important than ever before. Andrew is building a brand capable of expansion focusing on professional and independent hearing services.

Andrew will discuss his recent establishment of a new independent audiology clinic, providing insight for those considering independent practice, advice for those in the process of setting up, and an opportunity for those with established practices to familiarise themselves with the challenges facing new businesses today.

Tegan Keogh, PhD, is a specialist clinical audiologist, who has practiced Audiology on the Sunshine Coast & Brisbane since 1999.  Her PhD focussed on the ability of children to hear in noise, with an emphasis on children with otitis media, and bilingual children.  Tegan has worked extensively within the Audiology profession including; large tertiary hospitals, Australian Hearing and the University of Queensland.  She established the only State Public Health Audiology Service within the Sunshine Coast and greater area.  She has worked in the development and implementation of state-wide policy and protocols, research innovation, and ensuring the provision of quality audiology services for both children and adults across Queensland.  Tegan has consulted for the NZ Ministry of Health and QLD Workplace Health & Safety to improve service provision and implement quality assurance mechanisms.  Tegan now runs her own private practice, Hear Check, on the Sunshine Coast, in addition to driving collaborative research in the areas of TeleAudiology, with the University of QLD.

Dr Keogh will meet with selected guests with experience in the delivery of audiological services to look at recent changes to the Hearing Services Program, National Disability Insurance Scheme, Telehealth and quality management, through the lens of independent practice
