Often, hearing aids are fitted on a trial basis because we are unsure if the hearing aid fitting will be successful. But should we accept this uncertainty or should we try to communicate it to prospective hearing aid users?
This talk by Chris Whitfeld is based on his PhD research. He tries to prepare us for a clinical future when all treatments must be evidence based and all patients must be fully informed. In the webinar Chris will describe how he found a way to estimate the chance of successful hearing aid use for first time aid users and he proposes a method of describing that chance to clients to help them make a better informed decision before they start with hearing aids.
